What is the best alternative to Between in 2026?
Between is a messenger for two with a shared album and a calendar of special days, and no alternative copies all three. OurCouple comes closest, with messages, photos, calendar sync, and widgets. Cupla is stronger for shared plans, Paired and Connected for questions, and HeartSee for widgets and a private memory book on iPhone.
So start with what you would miss. If it is the chat, few couple apps replace it, and many couples keep talking in the messenger they already use. If it is the photos and dates, or something new like widgets and daily questions, the table shows which app covers it.
How was this comparison made?
HeartSee publishes this article and is one of the six apps. There are no paid placements and no affiliate links. Every fact about the other apps comes from its US App Store listing and, for Android, its official website, checked on 27 October 2026; we did not install and test each one. "Not listed" means the listing does not mention the feature, not that the app cannot do it.
We left out two apps that appear in searches for Between alternatives. Amora's listing marks its journals, prompts, and Premium as "coming soon", and its latest version was from November 2025. LoveKeeper is a one-person anniversary tracker with no partner pairing.

Is Between still updated, and what does it cost?
Yes. On 27 October 2026 the US listing, now called Between, Couples Love Tracker, showed version 5.14.03 dated 22 September, after three updates in August and September. It had a 4.8 rating from about 21 thousand ratings, needs iOS 14.1, and is on Android too. The listing describes it as "a messenger just for two", with photos, videos, notes, and a shared calendar of special days.
The developer on the listing is now DLT Partners Inc., the company named in Between's privacy policy, effective 5 February 2025. Between's notice page lists a personal information transfer after a business transfer on 2 January 2025, and a 2024 notice that the service is unavailable in certain European countries.
Between is free, with Between Plus at $2.99 a month, $24.99 a year, or $26.99 lifetime in the in-app purchase list. The description mentions a $13.99 yearly price, so check the price in the app before you pay.
Which Between alternative has a private chat?
Only one of the six describes messaging in the way Between does. OurCouple's listing says you can "send a message or photo of the day", with a shared calendar and widgets on the Home and Lock Screen. It is the closest match, but it had 24 ratings and needs iOS 17.0.
HeartSee sends moods, notes, drawings, and small gifts rather than running a chat thread. Connected, Cupla, Flamme, and Paired do not describe a chat at all: they are built around questions, plans, or dates, and expect you to keep talking somewhere else.
What is each alternative best for?
Three of the six say one subscription unlocks both partners: Connected, OurCouple, and HeartSee in its release notes. The others do not say, so check before both of you pay.
- Connected: daily relationship questions, a private journal, and coaching tools, on iPhone and Android. Skip it if you want chat or a shared photo album.
- Cupla: a shared couples calendar with anniversaries, birthdays, and widgets, on iPhone and Android. Skip it if you want a space for messages and photos.
- Flamme: questions plus days together, anniversaries, and long-distance countdowns, on iPhone and Android. Skip it if you need widgets without Premium.
- HeartSee (our app): a private space for two with no public feed, a memory book for photos and milestones, and widgets on the Home and Lock Screen. Skip it if one of you uses Android, or if you want a chat thread.
- OurCouple: the closest to Between, with messages, photos, calendar sync, and widgets. Skip it if either iPhone runs a version older than iOS 17.0, or you prefer an app with more ratings.
- Paired: the most-rated app here, with about 210 thousand ratings, built around questions and important dates. Skip it if you want chat or photos, or if either iPhone runs a version older than iOS 17.0.
How do you keep your memories when you leave Between?
Save them before either of you deletes the app. Between's help center describes an Export Photos option under More, then Settings, for Between Plus subscribers, which downloads album photos, videos, and notes. Album titles and comments are not included, and we found no help article on exporting chats.
Keep the originals in your normal photo backup as well as in any new app. A couple app is a good place to tell your story, but it should not be the only copy of photos you could not replace.

What do these apps declare in their privacy labels?
